Ex TA man in bid to find old soldiers

A former Territorial Army soldier is on a military mission - to put names to the faces of his old comrades.

Bob Littledyke, who was based at 41 Signal Regiment at Old Coulsdon, wants to identify all the TA members in this photograph.

It was taken in 1960 at their annual camp in Crowborough, Sussex.

Bob, now 74, was in the TA between 1955 and 1966 and his title was the Squadron Quartermaster Sergeant.

He said: "The TA has changed quite a lot since I was there, mainly in terms of the equipment they have to use - it's much more advanced than the stuff we had."

"It would be great if readers of "The Post" could help us to trace their former local TA unit."

He was caretaker first at the City of London TA Centre and then at the one in Hackbridge.

Bob has since moved from the area and now lives in Brackley, Northants.

He hopes that if "The Post" traces all the soldiers the picture can be displayed in the TA Centre on Marlpit Lane, Coulsdon.

  • Are you in the picture ?
